"We are so glad we were chosen out of several applications to be her forever home."
Mocha is our second adopted dog. Our first dog, Sunny (Sheltie Mix), ran away from his newly adopted family and was on the run for more than two months. He traveled over 7 miles, crossing one highway and two busy streets. He adopted us. Mocha was called in as a stray following children to school. She was difficult for Stray Rescue to find as she was hiding in the bushes in North St. Louis City. Stray Rescue named her Landscape. Sunny went to heaven on a Thursday at age 14. As he crossed the Rainbow Bridge I whispered in his ear to send us another dog just like him. We found Landscape (Mocha) smiling at us on the Stray Rescue site and applied for her only five days later. Sunny worked his magic for us fast. We named her Mocha because when we met her, I noticed her brown nose first. We wanted a puppy and Mocha was about 6 months old: full of energy, smart and affectionate. She settled into our home quickly. She is good with children, other dogs and the elderly, but she can play hard too. Her foster Mom thinks she was dumped on the street at 5 months old because she was so energetic. Two sessions of puppy training made her a better behaved dog. Mocha has one eye that is slightly lighter than the other (maybe some Aussie mix too) and a great smile. We are so glad we were chosen out of several applications to be her forever home. At 62 years old, we took this crazy puppy into our home. – Beth M., about her dog Mocha
