"You can't be mad, sad, or anything but happy when you have
a tiny puppy in your hand! It's impossible not to smile!"
This is my forever dog Lady and Sugarcone, who is a puppy from my first mom and pup litter. Lady LOVES the puppies. I started fostering moms and pups a little over a year ago. I have had 57 puppies and 6 moms in that time. It's been a crazy busy year but I love to foster. In my house there are my 3 dogs, 2 cats, typically 1 foster dog that stays with my pack, and a mom and pups in the basement, plus the occasional cat foster. Needless to say I have a full house.
I love fostering moms and pups. The moms usually come in scared, malnourished, filthy and just plain exhausted. I get to help them relax, clean up and start good, healthy nutrition. I am part of this transformation they go through. I can’t explain it but you see it in their eyes. It’s almost like they finally realize that life is going to be good from that moment on - no more streets. Helping mom with the babies helps build such a great bond with mom. The pups are so much fun to watch as they grow and develop personalities.
